The stretch mark removal procedure is not an easy task. You have probably tried more than one and different lotions, gels, creams and oils and the result you get is minimal. The truth is that these stretch mark removal techniques are not effective enough and in most cases the improvement is unsatisfactory. And still you are left with the question "How to remove stretch marks?". It's time to consider laser stretch mark removal. This is one of the modern and proven to be effective methods in erasing these skin deformities. The results achieved for significantly faster and last longer.
They are scars that form when the skin is suddenly stretched as a result of various factors - pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss, active muscle mass accumulation, puberty, and also the intake of corticosteroids. The middle layer of the skin is called the dermis, and it gives the skin its elasticity, as it contains collagen and elastin fibres. When the dermis is stressed or stretched too sharply, these fibers tear, forming scars in the form of transverse stripes. These are called red stretch marks and white stretch marks. These are not two different types, just different stages in their development. Red stretch marks are at the initial stage of formation (new). After a certain time they lose their color and become white (old). They have a flaccid and wrinkled structure. Most often they appear in pregnant women (over 80%), as well as in the active phase of puberty.

When removing stretch marks with a laser, through concentrated beams of light directed at the site of the scars, their obliteration and flattening is achieved. The essence of the technology is to stimulate the body's regenerative forces to begin replacing old cells with new, more vital ones. Among the most proven lasers in removing stretch marks is the CO2 fraxel laser. It makes microscopic "wounds" in the epidermis, stimulating its renewal and collagen synthesis. The CO2 technology "vaporizes" the most superficial layer of skin at the treated site, while the middle layer is stimulated by heat. The laser does not injure the entire skin, but only certain areas of it, each of which remains surrounded by healthy tissue untreated by the laser to accelerate regeneration. Thus, the superficial layer is replaced by new and vibrant skin, and the micro-tears stimulate an intense synthesis of collagen fibers to smooth the skin's relief and restore its elasticity.
At the patient's request, a numbing cream can be applied before the procedure. In most cases, patients experience mild discomfort during the procedure that does not exceed the limits of normal tolerance. Since the laser is ablative, it is normal to have redness and swelling at the site after the procedure, which resolves within a week. There is some burning sensation of the skin the first few days, so it is important to guard the site. Between 10-14 days are needed until the area has fully recovered.
The effectiveness of laser stretch mark removal depends on several factors. For example, removing red stretch marks is faster and more efficient than removing old stretch marks (white).

The red color indicates the presence of working blood vessels at the site, which significantly accelerates its recovery. Another factor is the depth of the scar. With more superficial stretch marks, almost complete removal can be achieved, while with deep and old ones, it is very difficult to completely erase them. They rather become faintly noticeable, with a much smoother structure.

The number of treatments required also varies according to these factors. Usually about 4 treatments every few weeks provide good results. The effect becomes visible after the 2nd treatment.
