The laser scar removal procedure is an advanced technology that allows the efficient and rapid removal of scars or their significant reduction when they are very concave or convex. Surgical scars, pimple scars, burn scars, etc. can be successfully treated with this type of therapy. Thanks to serious developments in laser technology over the last 15 years, any scar removal can be done in a much more gentle and painless way for the body. The therapy allows for the removal of scars on the face and many other parts of the body.

About the laser scar removal procedure

The technology aims to replace the damaged and deformed scar tissue with a new and vibrant one. By using a CO2 laser, the most superficial layers in the scar area are removed, resulting in its alignment and much less visibility. Apart from this, the laser works in depth, stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which renew the skin and restore its elasticity.

The most commonly used lasers for scar removal are the so-called CO2 fraxel lasers. Their mechanism is such that instead of irradiating the entire surface of the treated area (as normal CO2 lasers do), fractional lasers penetrate the skin only in certain places, between which healthy and unaffected tissue remains. The result is that the skin is stressed much less and heals several times faster.

Recovery is faster, which means the skin is vulnerable for a shorter time and the risk of pigmentation is minimised.
