Dr. Dimitrov graduated from Medical University of Varna in 1995. He has acquired specialties in Nervous Diseases and General Medicine. Additionally he completed a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the Sofia University "Kliment Ohridski". He has worked in various positions as a doctor in his specialty in the country and abroad. Since 2015 he has been a PhD student at the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology at St. Marina" Varna and shortly after became a lecturer at the Medical University of Varna.
Dr. Dimitrov uses in his practice the usual methods for the treatment of neurological diseases, but also some innovative technologies for modulation of nerve activity by transcranial magnetic and electrical stimulation. He has earned certifications in clinical EEG testing and transcranial magnetic stimulation. Uses quantitative EEG analysis to map brain activity and more accurately diagnose central nervous system dysfunctions.
Neuromodulation methods are new treatment options for neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and others), Depressive disorder, Cognitive problems concerning attention, concentration and memory, Sleep disorders, Migraine, Chronic pain. Combined with appropriate rehabilitation or speech therapy work, encouraging results are achieved for motor and speech recovery after stroke.
