Assoc. Prof. Asya Konsulova was born in Sofia. She graduated from the First Language School in Varna with a major in English and French. In 2003 she obtained a diploma in Medicine from Medical University "Prof. P. Stoyanov" - Varna. She obtained a specialty in Internal Medicine in 2011 and in Medical Oncology in 2015. Currently she works as a Medical Oncologist in the Department of Medical Oncology, Complex Oncology Center - Burgas.
Dr. Konsulova developed her professional qualification over the years in certified cancer centers such as Institut Jules Borde, Brussels, Belgium after winning a European Union scholarship and becoming a postgraduate at the Free University of Brussels. In 2017 she was a CECOG fellow at AKH - Vienna, Austria, then in 2018 with a European School of Oncology fellowship she also specialized for 7 months at the Clinical Oncology Center Champalimaud, Lisbon, Portugal.
In addition to years of training at world-class cancer centers, she is also a guest lecturer at Bulgarian and international forums, mostly related to breast cancer, ovarian cancer and neuroendocrine tumors. She has also won several prestigious awards, including. MORE - Darzalas for 2016 for significant contribution to Bulgarian Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Konsulova is a member of ESMO, ECCO and ASCO. She is the national coordinator of the European Initiative for Quality Management of Lung Cancer Patients (EIQMLCC) and the European Network for the Treatment of Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer (ENTYAC). She is a member of the Ethics Committee of the Young Oncologist Club, Bulgaria and President of the Association Women in Oncology - Bulgaria.
He is the author of numerous scientific presentations at international congresses and over 90 publications, most of them in refereed international journals. He is a reviewer of the European Congress of Lung Diseases, Frontiers in Oncology, Women's cancer section, and several international and Bulgarian refereed journals. Since 2020 he is the European School of Oncology (ESO Ambassador) for Bulgaria.
